This estimated impervious (paved, roofs and concrete etc) has been derived from 2014/2015 Northland Aerial Survey.

It includes an impervious surface data layer across Northland urban areas from 0.10m urban aerial photos captured in 2014-2015 using machine learning.

The image data used in the modelling comprises 6,550 ortho-rectified RGB GeoTIFF images in NZTM projection, tiled into the LINZ Standard 1:500 tile layout.

It may not accurately represent current surface coverage of impervious area as these will change over time.

It can be used to inform planning and catchment assessments as appropriate.

" }
